Built for seekers. Grounded in shastra.
MyPanditji is the modern Jyotish stack — 87 classical texts, a NASA-grade ephemeris, and a multi-agent AI Pandit — built by a team that grew up with astrology in the family puja room and got tired of apps that read like horoscopes from a magazine.
Why we built this
Vedic astrology is one of the most rigorously structured divinatory systems on the planet — 12 rashis, 27 nakshatras, 9 grahas, 16 vargas, and a six-fold framework of bala and drishti that has been refined across two and a half millennia. Yet most apps reduce it to a daily haiku based on your sun sign.
We grew up with that reduction — and with the opposite extreme: in-person pandits whose calendars were booked three months out and whose first available slot was a four-hour drive. Neither version did the system justice.
So we built MyPanditji. The corpus side ingests 87 classical Sanskrit texts — Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra (Maharishi Parashara, ~3000 BCE oral tradition), Saravali (Kalyana Varma, 8th c.), Phaladeepika (Mantreshwara, 13th c.), Jaimini Sutras, Muhurta Chintamani, Surya Siddhanta, Hora Sara, Sarvartha Chintamani, Uttara Kalamrita, and dozens of regional commentaries. The compute side runs the Swiss Ephemeris (built on JPL DE440), accurate to milli-arcseconds across a thirty-thousand-year window. The reasoning side is an orchestra of Claude models — Haiku for triage, Sonnet for normal answers, Opus for Council-grade depth — each grounded in retrieved citations from the corpus.
The result is something simple to describe and hard to build: a Pandit that does the maths exactly, quotes the texts honestly, and explains itself in plain language — in your pocket, in your language, twenty-four hours a day.
The six things we will not compromise on
These are the rules we wrote on day one and have not bent since.
Shastra first, opinion second
Every interpretation is anchored to a primary text — Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra, Saravali, Phaladeepika, Jaimini Sutras, Muhurta Chintamani and 80+ others — so a reading is a citation, not a vibe.
Real maths, computed live
Planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris (NASA JPL DE440), Lahiri ayanamsa default, accurate to the millisecond of birth. No pre-baked sun-sign tables, ever.
Sanskrit-rooted, English-fluent
We keep technical terms in their original Sanskrit — graha, bhava, dasha, antardasha, drishti — and gloss them in plain English on first touch. Precision without gatekeeping.
Your birth data is yours
Birth date, time and place are encrypted at rest, never sold, and fully exportable + deletable from Settings → Privacy. We meet both GDPR and India’s DPDP Act.
A free tier that is actually useful
Kundli, daily horoscope, panchang, Normal chat, streaks and numerology are free forever. We charge for council-grade analysis and unlimited depth — not for the basics.
When uncertain, we say so
Astrology has multiple schools and unresolved debates (Bhava vs Rashi, Tropical vs Sidereal, KP vs Parashari). When the texts disagree we surface the disagreement — we don’t pretend one answer fits all.
What is live today
Eleven full product surfaces — every one of them grounded in the same corpus and the same ephemeris.
Our mission is to make authentic Jyotish accessible to anyone with a phone and a birth time — without paywalls on the basics, without watered-down interpretations, and without selling your data.
