Your home, read room by room, direction by direction.
An online Vastu audit of your actual home or office. Upload a floor plan or pick where each room sits and 31 core placement rules find the defects; place two or more rooms of a saved home and the full 134-rule table (77 defects, 57 strengths) reads the whole house together. The Manasara and Brihat Samhita are cited where they speak, and each defect is weighed against your own lagna before the remedies. Vastu is part of MyPanditji Max.

A live compass
Stand at your main door and lock the house facing from your phone. On a desktop with no sensor, pick it by hand — the page says so instead of hiding it
Floor plan or guided form
Upload a plan photo, or pick the direction of your entry, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, pooja room, stairs, heavy storage and water
134 classical placement rules
Checked deterministically, no model in the loop: kitchen, bathrooms, entry, pooja, bedrooms by occupant, stairs, heavy items, water and the centre; on a whole-house reading, how rooms interact as well
Defects cited to the texts
Each defect marked severe, moderate or mild, and cited from the Manasara and Brihat Samhita wherever the corpus holds a passage on it; the rule set itself is checked against the Manasara, Mayamatam, Brihat Samhita and Samarangana Sutradhara
Personalised to your lagna
Your ascendant's lord names the most auspicious direction for your chart; a defect there is softened, one in an inauspicious direction is raised a step
Remedies and a PDF
Move, add, ritual, colour or structural — each with a priority — in a downloadable report with your defects, strengths and chart section
The eight directions
Vastu reads a home as a mandala — 81 padas in nine zones, each with a presiding deity — and every room is judged by the zone it sits in. This is the direction guide from inside the app, with what each zone is ruled by and what belongs there.
| Direction | Ruled by | Element | Place here | Keep away |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| North-East (Ishaan) | Jupiter / Shiva | Water | Puja room or prayer corner · meditation area · water feature or borewell · keep open and clean | Heavy furniture · toilet or storage · kitchen · clutter |
| East (Purva) | Sun | Air | Main entrance · study or office window · sunlight source · living room | Blocking windows · tall trees directly in front |
| South-East (Agneya) | Venus / Agni | Fire | Kitchen · electrical equipment · inverter or generator | Bedroom · water storage · puja room |
| South (Dakshin) | Mars / Yama | Earth | Heavy furniture · master bedroom (if not SW) · bookshelves | Main entrance · water storage · large windows |
| South-West (Nairutya) | Rahu / Nirriti | Earth | Master bedroom · heavy locker or safe · main support walls | Toilet · kitchen · staircase going down |
| West (Paschim) | Saturn / Varuna | Water | Children's study room · dining room · secondary bedroom | Main entrance (unless on the E–W axis) |
| North-West (Vayavya) | Moon / Vayu | Air | Guest bedroom · garage · stores of perishables | Master bedroom · puja room |
| North (Uttar) | Mercury / Kubera | Water | Cash or locker · living room · water feature | Heavy furniture blocking · toilet |
FAQ
Is the Vastu reading free?
No. Vastu is a Max feature. The full reading, the live compass, the Vastu Purusha Mandala and the room-by-room guide open with a Max plan; on a Free or Pro plan the page shows an upgrade prompt instead. The "Ask Panditji about my home" button inside the Vastu page opens chat in the same Max-gated Vastu mode. A Vastu question typed into ordinary chat is answered as normal chat, without the rule checker or citations.
What do I need to give it?
At minimum, the direction of your front entry, your kitchen and at least one bathroom — or a floor plan photo, which covers those on its own. You can also add the master bedroom, the pooja room, stairs, heavy storage, water sources, whether the centre of the house is clear, and a note on what you want addressed. It reads a home or an office.
Can it read a floor plan photo?
Yes. From a photo or screenshot of the plan it identifies the entry direction, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms (master versus children or guest), pooja space, stairs, heavy items, water sources and whether the centre is open. If the plan shows a north arrow it uses it; if not, it assumes the top of the image is north. Anything you pick by hand overrides what it read from the picture.
What is a Vastu dosh, and how does the reading find one?
A dosh is a placement that goes against the Shastra — a kitchen in the north-east, a toilet in the north-east, a main door in the south-west. A single reading checks your layout against 31 core placement rules — kitchen, bathrooms, entry, pooja room, bedrooms by who sleeps in them, stairs, heavy items, water and whether the centre is clear. Save a home and place two or more rooms, and the whole house is read against the full 134-rule table, including how rooms interact. Each defect is marked severe, moderate or mild, cited from the Manasara and Brihat Samhita wherever the corpus holds a passage on it (the rule set itself is checked against the Manasara, Mayamatam, Brihat Samhita and Samarangana Sutradhara), and paired with up to three remedies — move, add, ritual, colour or structural, each with a priority, small additive fixes favoured over structural ones unless the defect is severe.
How is it personalised to me?
Through your Kundli. Your ascendant (lagna) has a ruling planet, and that planet has a direction — that direction becomes the most auspicious quadrant for your chart. The lord's natural friends add supportive directions; its enemies mark the inauspicious ones. Then the defects are re-weighed: a moderate defect sitting in one of your auspicious directions is softened to mild, and a defect in an inauspicious direction is raised a step. The reading and the PDF both carry this section, so the same floor plan reads differently for a different chart.
Do I need to be at the house?
Not for the reading — a floor plan or the guided form works from anywhere. The live compass is for when you are there: it uses your phone's orientation sensor to lock the house facing while you stand at the main door (iOS asks permission first). On a desktop with no sensor, the page says so and lets you pick the facing by hand. Homes you set up are saved in that browser, and once two or more rooms are placed you can read the whole house together.
