What the rules engine checks
Lal Kitab's concrete rules follow from where each planet sits in the fixed frame. These are the five checks run on your chart. Each rule that fires is presented with why it fired, its effect and — where the text gives one — its upay. Up to six rules, strongest first.

Is the Lal Kitab reading free?
The chart is; the reading is not. With a free account and your birth details, the page casts your chart in the Lal Kitab fixed-Aries frame. What is a Lal Kitab kundli, and how is it different from my birth chart?
Same planets, different frame. A Parashari kundli counts houses from your ascendant. Lal Kitab fixes them: house 1 is always Aries and house 12 is always Pisces, so a planet's Lal Kitab house is simply the number of the sign it occupies — Saturn in Capricorn is Saturn in house 10 for everyone. The page draws this as a 4×4 grid labelled by sign number, with your ascendant marked only for orientation, and it is the same frame the rules engine and the reading use.
Where do the remedies (upay) come from?
Two places, both in the Lal Kitab text. First, the rules that fired for your chart — most of the verified rules carry the upay the text prescribes for that placement. Second, the passages Panditji retrieves from the Lal Kitab text while researching your placements. Remedies are offered as simple, low-cost, practical acts — feeding an animal, donating an item, keeping or avoiding an object on certain days — as supportive practices, not as fear or a guarantee, and never anything harmful, medical or financial.
Does it do Lal Kitab varshphal (the yearly chart)?
Not yet. This is a reading of your birth chart. Lal Kitab's year-by-year timing, its planet states (alive, asleep, dormant) and its own aspects are not part of the reading today, and there is no separate rin (ancestral debt) diagnosis — the term is explained in plain words when it comes up.
What do I need to start?
Your date, exact time and place of birth — without them the page asks you to add them before it can cast the chart. Are the quotes from the Lal Kitab real?
Every quote in the structured reading is checked programmatically against the passages Panditji retrieved — a quote that is not a verbatim excerpt is dropped — and Panditji is told to write anything unverified without quotation marks. A reading with no quotes at all is allowed rather than an invented one. Beyond that, the app's own line applies: AI-generated — astrology is tradition, not proof, and AI can be wrong.
