8-fold ashta-koota

The classical 8-koota system — out of 36 total. Each koota is computed separately from both charts’ real placements. A koota is more than a number (vashya is not "compatibility" — it is mutual receptivity to influence).

Mangal dosha — checked properly

Counted from Lagna, Moon and Venus (per Jataka Parijata). Cancellation rules applied. Most apps check from Lagna only and over-flag — we follow the classical method.

Nadi and Bhakoot doshas

Beyond the total, the Nadi and Bhakoot doshas are checked on their own, because either can outweigh a high score. The report shows both, not just the number.

27/36 is solid — above the 18/36 classical minimum threshold and within the 24-28 range that most matched couples land in. The relevant question is not the headline number but which kootas are low. In your case, nadi is 0/8 (same nadi, classical concern), but Jupiter aspects both Moons (cancellation rule per BPHS Striveda 28). Bhakoot is 0/7 (3-11 axis) — the classical mitigation is delayed marriage age. Net: proceed with the engagement window in Sep 2027 per MC 4.18, and observe the mitigation upayas in the brief.

FAQ

What is the minimum acceptable score?

Classical threshold is 18/36. Below 18 the texts recommend re-examining the match. 18-24 = workable with care. 24-30 = strong. 30+ is rare and usually involves a koota or two scoring perfect.

Is Mangal dosha really that important?

It is important when present, but it is over-flagged by most online tools because they check from Lagna only and ignore the classical cancellation rules. Done properly (Lagna + Moon + Venus, with cancellations applied), far fewer charts carry a real Mangal dosha than the 50%+ that some apps flag.

Is kundli matching free?

Yes — the full ashta-koota report with Mangal, Nadi and Bhakoot dosha checks is 1 match a month without a plan. Pro gets 5 matches a month, and Max is unlimited.

Do you store the other person’s birth details?

Only with both parties’ consent (you confirm a checkbox). Otherwise the second chart is computed and immediately discarded after the report is produced.
