FAQ
Is the face reading free?
No. Face reading is included with the Max plan only. The check happens on the server before any photo is read — both when the QR code is created and when the photo is submitted — so a Free or Pro account is turned away with a message to upgrade rather than given a reading. Is this Samudrika Shastra or mukh lakshan?
In part. Samudrika Shastra is the Indian tradition of reading the body, and mukh lakshan its chapter on the face. The passages quoted come from Johann Caspar Lavater's Essays on Physiognomy (1775–78), the foundational European work on reading character from the face, in the two editions we hold. The reading also applies verified feature rules mined from a Hindi Samudrika Shastra text where a rule's condition matches what is seen in your photo. We hold no Chinese Mien Shiang text, so the reading never cites one, never sorts the face by the five elements, and never invents a quotation.
What photo do I need?
On a phone, one clear front-facing photo in even light is enough and the side profile is optional. When you scan the QR from a computer, the capture page asks for both a front photo and a side profile. JPEG, PNG and WebP are accepted. On a phone the browser shrinks the image to 1600 px on its longer side before upload; the QR capture page sends the photo as taken, up to 6 MB. Every photo is checked before the reading starts: if it is blurry, too dark or over-exposed, cut off, covered by sunglasses, a mask or hair, taken at an extreme angle, or shows more than one face, no reading is attempted and you get a specific hint on what to retake.
How do I take the photo from my computer?
On a desktop or tablet the page shows a QR code. Scan it with your phone camera — the capture page opens with no app and no login, your phone takes the photo, and the reading lands back on the page you scanned from. The code is valid for 15 minutes. On a phone you skip the QR and pick from your gallery or the camera directly. Either way you tick a consent line before the photo is sent.
What happens to my photo and the reading?
The photo is kept in a private bucket only you can read and is used only for the reading. The reading is saved to your journal with its date the moment it is shown, and the page reopens it instead of asking for a new photo; if the photo was unclear you can replace it once.
Can I read a family member, and can I ask Panditji about the result?
Both. Pick a saved family or friend profile before you capture and the reading is made and stored for that person. After any reading, "Ask Panditji about this" opens chat with the full reading as context, so you can ask why a feature reads the way it does — in the same tradition, from the same source. Nothing in a reading is medical: the most it will ever say on health is to consult a physician.
